Wow... what an inspiration...
Chris Medina, a young man with an inspiring story who displays incredible character.
The 26-year old barista from Illinois appeared on Wednesday's tryout episode of the national singing competition, and brought his girlfriend, Julia Ramos. She was there for a different kind of inspiration: two weeks before they were to marry, Ramos was in a car accident, leaving her with brain damage. Now, Chris Medina is his fiance's caretaker. Julia is still heavily disabled and confined to a wheel chair.
I was struck deeply with something he said, "I was about to make vows just two months before the accident. Through thick and thin, till death do us part, in sickness and in health, for better or for worse. What kind of guy would I be if I walked out when she needed me the most?"
Character. Commitment. Staying true to your word. That's something our world needs to see. Thanks for showing the world what it looks like Chris.

Firsts...
This was Kenneth's first birthday party... he turned 13.
He was so excited about his party!
It was the first time he had ever received gifts on his birthday...
Every gift was met with a most thankful hug for the giver!
The relationship these brothers share is definitely a gift!
A testimony of God's faithfulness and goodness!
He had his first birthday cake...
and blew out candles for the first time.
Celebrating his special day with first cousins...
When we brought out his last gift, his first bicycle...
he could hardly contain his excitement!
After his party, he read the sweetest letter to us...
thanking us for everything...
but mostly he thanked us for being his family and for loving him.
He played several songs on his drum...
singing of the faithfulness of God.
He always remembers Who to put first.
Happy Birthday, my precious son.
You are an amazing young man...
Daddy and I are so proud of you.
Awaken:Abolition
This is a production the college students of our church put together to raise awareness of human trafficking...
It is powerful. It is heart-breaking. It is true.
Now that you know... WHAT will you do?
It is powerful. It is heart-breaking. It is true.
Now that you know... WHAT will you do?

Celebrating My Love
My adoring Husband...
How do I convey the depth of love...
and gratitude and respect I have for you?
How do I convey the depth of love...
and gratitude and respect I have for you?
There are no words... no gift that can express it.
I hope you know... truly know... how much I love you.
I am forever thankful that you chose me to live this life with you.
I thank God for you. Truly.
Happy Birthday, my Love.

Dear Stan...
Oh, how thankful I am that we spent Christmas Eve together! Had I known it would be the last time I would ever see you... what would I have said to you?
I would have said "thank you"...
Thank you for the service you rendered to our country as you served in the Air Force EOD for so many years. Thank you for risking your life for the sake of securing our freedom.
Thank you for raising your son to be the hard working, honest, loving, God-fearing man that he is today. I know how proud you were of him.
Thank you for loving me. Your tough guy image never fooled me... and you knew it. And although the words were not spoken, I know you loved me.
Thank you for loving your grand-children. They will forever remember the times we sat around the dinner table laughing hysterically, until everybody's sides ached and tears rolled down cheeks, from the silly antics of their Papaw.
Some said you were stubborn... I just thought you were fiesty. I liked it.
You were a remarkable man, Stan. I am thankful to have known you. I am thankful that some day... I will see you again.
I love you. You will be missed... more than words can say.
Your daughter (in-law),
Cheryl
